Welcome
Musicians
In order to build an audience for your art, it's important
for you to promote yourself to the media and to make
your information easy to publish. That means providing
them with up-to-date biographical information, discography,
current photos, as well as gig information and audio
files. The Omnibus can do this for a fraction of the
cost.
Get More Press!
As a former entertainment editor for a daily newspaper,
I've seen thousands of press kits from musicians and
other performers. Some were outstanding. Others -- regardless
of how expensive to create -- were bland or useless.
Why spend so much money on a press kit that will simply
be filed, or worse, thrown away when the event is over?
Why send an audio CD when that that same disc can be
sold to a customer? The waste is staggering when you
consider the cost of the standard press kit, including
a CD and color and black-and-white photographs, is a
minimum of $20 each.
There is a better solution!
I know exactly what a newspaper writer and
editor, a radio disc jockey, and a TV reporter needs
in order to publicize upcoming show or construct a feature.
I also know that they prefer this information in an
electronic format -- it is the path of least resistance
when a writer or editor is working on deadline.
I've developed an enhanced CD with multimedia information
that replaces the standard press kit for a fraction
of the cost. It contains an event press release, a biography,
discography and/or song list, color and black-and-white
high-resolution photographs, and both MP3 and audio
files. I also can create (using either 8mm or VHS) short
digital videos of live performances. These CDs, playable
on any computer or listened to on the typical stereo,
become inexpensive ways to promote a live performance
to potential venues and to publicize any event. The
savings are tremendous. After the initial cost, duplicate
CDs can be manufactured and shipped for less than $1
each. They're durable, reusable and the Web-based format
is compatible for both PC and MAC computers.
A full press kit created on one master CD (Press release,
biography, discography, color and b/w photos, a short
digital video and MP3 and audio files) costs
you $400.
Or, if you choose, a one-time press release of upcoming
event (sent via e-mail to media and your preferred mailing
list) is only $50.
